Curatorial note
This is almost certainly the ‘circular mirror 24 inches diameter’ which was in Soane’s day fixed to the door between the Study and the Dressing Room.1 It is visible in a view of the Study by J. M. Gandy of 1822, (P86 detail), with what looks like a stained rather than a gilt frame.
1 It currently hangs in the South Drawing Room, where no convex mirrors are listed in the 1837 Furniture and Fittings inventory.
