Curatorial note

Two-door cupboard framed by pilasters with acanthus capitals. This chiffonier was not part of Soane's collection and probably belonged to the first Curator, George Bailey (Curator 1837-1860). It was on the second floor of No. 13, in the rooms that after Soane's death became the Curator's living quarters, until the start of the Opening up the Soane project and was relocated to No. 14 when the restoration of that building was completed in 2009.
