Small glass case containing two fragments of the cover of the Seti sarcophagus

Calcite (a form of alabaster) with blue-grey infill to the glyphs. It is not known whether this infill is ancient or a modern attempt to reconstruct the original colour.

Given to the Museum in 1910 by Professor Wiedemann of Bonn University who bought the fragments in Luxor in 1907.
