Curatorial note
A honeysuckle-acanthus palmette ornament in carved relief set within an enframing moulding. The piece is slightly unusual because the shape is of a triangle rounded off at the top, rather than in the usual form with vertical side edges.
This piece must have been in Soane's collections but cannot now be identified in the earliest inventories of the Museum, hence the prefix X to its Museum number.
