The original frame to P246 was rediscovered in store in the 1990s and restored as part of OUTS Phase 2 when the orignal hang in the North Drawing Room was reinstated.
This original frame was in store for many years after the watercolour P246 was reframed, probably in the 1920s, in a plain modern gold frame (done when it was relocated in order to enable it to fit within the picture planes in the Picture Room).
