This ornament, a winged female figure, was used to decorate the spandrels of the front parlour (Breakfast Room) ceiling of Soane’s house at Ealing, designed and executed between 1800 and 1802. The motif, also represented by M1145, occurs in certain other designs, such as Pellwall, Staffs. This model is installed with its pair on the ceiling of the Monk's Parlour.
