Curatorial note

This fragment is enriched with a carved pattern of overlapping pine branches, twigs, and needles, with pine cones scattered between them. A similar enrichment graces a shaft of similar proportions found and preserved in Hadrian's Villa (Villa Adriana) at Tivoli.1
