Curatorial note

A section of mosaic floor pavement consisting of two (one fragmentary) black eight-petalled flowers set in white squares bordered by two and three black strips running off at the ends. At the edges of the long side are two broader strips in black running from frame to frame, beyond which at one end more white is visible. Note that the tesserae (the individual marble squares) are small.
