The group of casts A2, A3, A4 and A7 may come from the Roman Arch of the Argentarii (silversmiths). The pilasters of that arch were drawn by Robert Adam in Rome (SM Adam vol. 26/70) and casts of pilaster panels were purchased by Soane from the Robert Adam sale in 1818.
This group of casts was clearly made at the same time and by the same maker as all are strengthened on the verso with curving rib bones (probably cow bones). The one in the group that is missing such strengthening clearly had it originally but unfortunatley the bones were removed when it was repaired.
