The group of casts A2, A3, A4 and A7 may come from the Roman Arch of the Argentarii (silversmiths). The pilasters of that arch were drawn by Robert Adam in Rome (SM Adam vol. 26/70) and casts of pilaster panels were purchased by Soane from the Robert Adam sale in 1818.
The back of this plaster cast is strengthened with a single curving rib bone, probably from a cow/bull in the same way as the other panels with which it seems to make up a set e.g. A2, A7, A3 etc.
