Alternative designs for a ceiling for the lesser dining parlour (now the drawing room), 1759 (2)

According to Bolton's pencil inscription ('C') on drawing 11 this ceiling was designed for the lesser dining parlour on the south-west corner of the ground floor. There are pencil annotations in the lesser dining parlour on the plan (drawing 1) which show the outline of a large central circular band framed by four octagonal panels. The ceiling from the lesser dining parlour collapsed in c.1860, but one of similar design survives on the first floor.
