This version of Adam's design for the drawing room chimney grate was not executed. A similar but much simplified Adam office design for the grate and fender within the National Trust drawings collection at Osterley was executed with minor alterations, in gold-coloured paktong (an alloy of zinc, nickel and copper). The executed grate survives in situ, and according to Harris, it is the only documented Adam grate that remains in the place for which it was designed.
