Record drawing for a ceiling for the staircase, 1771, as executed (1)

The staircase is located at the rear of the house, behind the entrance hall and ante room, and adjacent to the back parlour and the second drawing room. It only extends as high as the first storey.

The ceiling was executed in accordance with Adam's design. Despite considerable damage in the 1990s owing to water ingress, the ceiling survives in situ and has since been restored (see scheme notes).
