Working drawing for a chimney-piece in an unidentified room, 30 December 1805 (1)

The chimney-piece opening is 3 feet 10 inches wide and 3 feet high. It has simple fluted jambs and frieze, with a triple-bead moulding on the edges of the projecting shelf. The materials are not described in the drawing aside from Soane's inscription 'statuary' on the slab in front, probably indicating statuary marble. The detail shows a plan of the shelf and one of the fluted jambs.
