Working drawing for a chimney-piece, 21 June 1792

The chimney-piece is for an unidentified room at Wimpole. It has concave corners ornamented with square panels. Soane's note on the detail instructs his tradesman to omit the rosette pattern shown. The fireplace opening measures 3 feet 7½ inches across and 3 feet 3 inches high, perhaps intended for a bedroom or dressing room on the first floor.
