Alternative preliminary designs for a cottage, unexecuted, October 1778 (2)

It is significant that Thomas Tower is inscribed as the patron at Weald Hall in Robert Adam's hand (Adam volume 21/114) - though like his brother, William, he too spelt the family name of Tower incorrectly as Towers. It appears that Thomas had approached Adam prior to his death in September 1778, and that the work at Weald Hall was then continued by Christopher Tower.
