The commode for the Etruscan dressing room is illustrated in the second volume of The works in architecture of Robert and James Adam (part 1, plate 8), and corresponds with Adam's drawing. It was designed in 1774, and executed in 1775 by Ince and Mayhew. The medallions show Diana with her hounds, and dancing nymphs on either side, with a rectangular tablet showing Venus and Cupid. All of these panels are attributed to Antonio Zucchi, and according to Harris, were probably derived from engraved sources.

The commode is one of very few pieces from 23 Grosvenor Square to have survived, and remains in the possession of the 19th Earl of Derby.
