The first part, covering the years 1613--1644, was first printed in 1662, and reprinted in 1663. The present 'terza impressione' of 1676 was followed in 1679 by the first edition of the second part continuing the history to 1671, edited by Antonio Nani, the author's nephew. Both parts were reprinted at Bologna, 1680. Giovan Battista Nani was ambassador of Venice in France and later also at the court of Ferdinand III of Austria. The final leaf of part 2 is a blank.

Binding C18th mottled 'catspaw' calf, blind double-ruled borders, gilt-tooled spine compartments with small floral motifs, red morocco spine-labels, marbled endpapers.
