Volume IV only from a collected edition published in Naples. Title taken from collective half-title; each play additionally has a specific title-page and separate pagination and register. Contents: 'La Pamela'; 'Il Caffè'; 'Il Bugiardo'; 'L'Adulatore'. In the Soane copy all four plays have the imprint 'In Napoli 1753. Presso Alessio Pellecchia, Ed a spese di Giacomo Antonio Venaccia. Si vendono nel Corridojo del Consiglio. Con Licenza De' Superiori.'. A 24-volume edition was published in Naples by Pellecchia and Venaccia, 1754--1770, but the descriptions seen of other copies record the first three plays with the imprint of Giuseppe di Domenico e Vincenzo Manfredi dated 1756, 1756, and 1757 respectively, and the fourth with the imprint of Girolamo Flauto, 1758. Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting pp. 55--58 (sig. D4.5) of 'La Pamela' and all after p. 70 (sig. E3) of 'L'Adulatore'; the physical collation above assumes the final leaf is E4, pp. 71--72. Leaf D3 (pp. 53--54) of 'La Pamela' is torn with loss of text. Annotations in pencil to the first two acts of 'La Pamela' giving vocabulary notes in English, possibly by Soane. Top corner of front cover has been sliced off.
