Sketches in architecture, consisting of original designs for public & private buildings. By Thomas Downes Wilmot Dearn, ...
London (Place), printed and published for the author, by John Cawthorn, bookseller to Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales,, [1806].
[60] p., 16 aquat. pl. ; 34.5 cm. (4º)

At foot of title-page: Price £.1 5s. in boards. Imprint of Thomas Collins on verso of title-page. In 1806 Dearn exhibited 'a frame containing six designs' at the Royal Academy, which appeared as plates 2, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 in his book. The absence from Soane's library of any of the other books by Dearn, apart from two presentation copies from the author and the publisher of The bricklayer's guide, 1809 (q.v.) which was dedicated to him, suggests that he was not an admirer of Dearn's work. A 'Second Part' was published as Sketches in architecture, consisting of original designs for cottages, 1807 (see BAL 825). Plates 6 and 10 misnumbered 12 and 9 respectively. BAL, Early printed books, no. 826.
