Title from pl. 1. Variant title on pl. 3: Prospecte und Abriße einiger Gebäude von Wien, daselbst gezeichnet von J.E.F.v.E. = Vûes et façades de quelques hôtels de Vienne ... . All leaves oblong folio, versos blank. Plates numbered bottom left 1, 3--10, 10.a, 11--28, '29. et 30.', consisting of elevations and perspective or bird's-eye views of major new town and country houses, squares, etc., in and around Vienna (a letterpress privilege dated Vienna, 26 January 1719, is placed and numbered as pl. 2). All of the plates are signed as engraved by Johann Adam Delsenbach (1687--1765) after Josef Emanuel Fischer von Erlach except pl. 1 (signed by Delsenbach only), 9 and 15 (unsigned), and 17 (engraved by Christian Engelbrecht and J.A. Pfeffel). Publication seems to have commenced in 1713, under the variant title that later became pl. 3 (see Thieme-Becker). The privilege carefully avoids naming the author, presumably Fischer von Erlach (not to be confused with his father, the Baroque architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach (1656--1723)) rather than Delsenbach or Pfeffel (another issue, q.v.), in whose favour it was granted. Berlin Kat. 2095. Fowler's index gives Fischer von Erlach's dates as 1680--1738.
