Copy Notes Copy 1: Inscribed in pencil on front free-endpaper in the bookseller Thomas Boone's hand Collated & Perfect. Bound as purchased as a set with nine other volumes by John and Samuel Ireland, on Hogarth (2 vols, q.v.), Holland (q.v.), the Inns of Court (q.v.) and the rivers Thames (2 vols, q.v.), Medway (q.v.), and Wye (q.v.).
Copy 2: 23.2 cm. Purchased from John Maynard for 19s. on 9 August 1804. (Jnl 5, p.7). Inscribed in ink on front free-endpaper John Soane/ 1804/ /p/m/. With the list of prints (pp. xvii--xviii) misbound at the end.

Binding Copy 1: C19th mottled calf, gilt double-rule borders, gilt-tooled spines with sunbursts, black and green spine-labels, marbled edges and endpapers. Uniform with six other works by John and Samuel Ireland (see above).
Copy 2: C19th half goatskin, gilt-tooled spine, black spine-label, contemporary marbled-paper boards. With the list of plates (pp. xvii--xviii) bound at the end.
