II: vi, 32 p., CI [i.e. 68] pl. (38 double each with 2 numbers)
Part I was first published in 1767. Its second edition, published to coincide with the publication of Part II, contains an additional plate (LXXV) of Axwell Park. Part II omits 'Stabling' in the title and has imprint: London: printed for the author; and sold by Mess. Sayer and Bennett; Mr. Beckett; Mr. Robson at Mr Boydell's; and at the author's house, 1783. A variant of part II has the names of 'Mr. Davies' and 'Isaac Taylor' added to the imprint. Part II plates XV--XVI misnumbered XIII--XIV. Harris and Savage note two variant lists of subscribers, with two royalty and 203 other names, or five royalty and 215 other; the present copy contains the latter variant. Copy Notes A copy of 'Paine Vol. I' was bought by Soane on 11 September 1786 together with one of the copies of Desgodetz, Les édifices antiques de Rome, 1682 (q.v.) for 5 guineas. (Account Book 1778--1797, p. 70.)
