Leipzig wie solches auff der Strasse vor dem ... Thor sich præsentiret.
Amstelaedami (Place), P. Schenk exc:,, 1705.
[4] pl. ; c. 21 x 25 cm. (4º)

Four plates with no general title but each captioned as above with the name of the four gates into Leipzig ("Hællischen", "Ranstæter", "Grimmischen" and "Peters") inserted as appropriate.

Copy Notes In the Soane copy, the plates have been cropped within their plate-marks and mounted on two folio leaves at the tail-end of a large volume of suites relating mainly to Vienna and Berlin. They may form part of a larger suite, but in size and style are quite distinct from that of public and private buildings described above. They are followed by three further Schenk views of Leipzig, similarly mounted on two folio leaves: 'Herr Johann Petzschens Hoff und Ballen=Hausz'; 'Accurata delineatio aedium ... D. Francisci Conradi Romani, ...' dated 1704 and signed 'S. Blattner delineavit'; and 'das Schlosz oder Castell zu Leipzig, ... Arx Lipsiensis, ...'. Bound last after the Pfeffel issue of J.E. Fischer von Erlach, Anfang einiger Vorstellungen der vornehmsten Gebäude ... von Wien, [1719?] (q.v.); Salomon Kleiner, Vera et accurata delineatio omnium templorum et coenobiorum ...
