A continuation was published in 1796 under the title Plans et coupes du projet de restauration des piliers du dome du Panthéon françois (q.v.). Both are issued here as parts 2 & 3 of a pro tempore compilation of Viel's works up to 1800 in two volumes, one containing his Principes de l'ordonnance et de la construction des batimens; ... Première partie, 1797 (q.v.), and the present volume as described in the entry for Viel's Décadence de l'architecture, 1800 (q.v.). The plates are bound at the end.

Copy Notes The two-volume set was bought at Christie's, 17 February 1815, lot 61. (See marked-up copy of the sale catalogue in Christie's archive).

Binding C19th half red roan, gilt-ruled spine, marbled-paper boards, green spine-label lettered in gilt 'Viel's/ Decadence/ De/ L'Architecture'. Uniform bound with the companion volume (q.v.).
