V.; each volume additionally has an engraved title-plate by F. Channeau, and a letterpress contents leaf in French. Parallel Latin and French text of the plays with duplicate numbering on opposite pages; the critical remarks at the end of each volume have single pagination. In vol. II, the first eight pages of the critical remarks are misnumbered as follows: 245, 245, 245, 245, 245, 245, 242, 245, and page 138 verso is misnumbered 38.
Copy Notes In volume IV the letterpress title-pages in Latin and French are misbound within the index at the end of the volume. Volume I inscribed in pencil on front free-endpaper, probably the hand of the bookseller Thomas Boone French Translation with / Latin Text on opposite page. / 4 Vols. =s6=.
Binding C18th marbled calf, gilt double-ruled borders and gilt-tooled panels, gilt-tooled spines, red morocco spine-labels, marbled fore-edges.
