Imprint from colophon 'Printed by J. Moyes'. The works of the Right Rev. William Beveridge were published in nine volumes by Duncan and Whittaker in 1824. Beveridge was bishop of St Asaph from 1704 until his death in 1708; his most famous sermon on the Book of Common Prayer, first published in 1681, had reached its 44th edition by 1824.
Copy Notes Bound as issued at the front of Charles Butler's Reminiscences, 1822 (q.v.) and the publisher's catalogue for April 1822 (q.v.). Soane bought Butler's Reminiscences from Ogle, Duncan & Co. through James Moyes, for 7s. 3d., 16 April 1823. (Spiers Box. Miscellaneous booksellers).
