Anonymous. Attributed to Thomas Bateman. This pamphlet was intended to be read in conjunction with An answer to a pamphlet ... (q.v.), also attributed to Bateman, both being issued in response to Frauds and abuses at St. Paul's (q.v.), Francis Hare's anonymously published attack on the architect Sir Christopher Wren and the master carpenter Richard Jennings. A note on the title-page of this and the BAL copy of the present pamphlet dates its publication to 5 March; a 'Second Part' followed later in the same year (q.v.), concluding the exchange of pamphlets. ESTC t102056; BAL, Early printed books, no. 3759.

Copy Notes Date of publication on title-page amended in ink 1713/2 and 5. March. At top 10d. Bound (3) after Frauds and abuses at St. Paul's (q.v.) and An answer to a pamphlet ... (q.v.) with three other pamphlets concerning the controversy and two additional items both dated 1678 tipped in on guards at the end.

Binding C19th calf, blind triple-ruled borders with small floral corner ornaments in blind, gilt triple-ruled and blind-tooled spine, dark green spine-label gilt-lettered 'Pamphlets On St Pauls'. Later numbered '70' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
