Anonymous. By Sir John Soane. Printer's name from colophon. Earlier versions of some of the material had been printed in 1832 as Facts and results relating to the conduct of Mr. George Soane, and his connexion with the family of Mr. James Boaden (q.v.), and in 1833 as part of the longer of two versions of Soane's Plans, elevations, and perspective views, of Pitzhanger Manor-House, ... In letters to a friend, 1833 (q.v.) and as Details extracted from "Letters to a Friend, relating to the conduct of Mr. George Soane," ... (q.v.). Susan Palmer, 'Sir John Soane: rewriting a life', Libraries & the Cultural Record, vol. 44:1 (Univ. of Texas at Austin, 2009), pp. 71-76. In addition to the 25 complete copies in Mandelbrote Packet 11.1, there are 23 copies of pages 1-24; 33 copies of pages 29-32 regarding Frederick Soane, and 23 title pages in Mandelbeote 11.2; and 2 copies of pages 17-24 in Mandelbrote 11.3. Although there is a label in Mandelbrote 11.1 recording `23 Complete Copies in Sheets ready to Bind', the packet contains 25 copies.

Copy 2: Bound last in a composite volume of Soane's autobiographical writings assembled by A. T. Bolton for the use of Curators of Sir John Soane's Museum, May 1919.
Copies 3--27: 25 complete copies in sheets are in the Soane Archives. (Mandelbrote packet 11.1; although there is a manuscript label in this packet recording '23 Complete Copies in Sheets ready to Bind', the packet contains 25 copies). In addition to the 25 complete copies, there are 23 copies of pages 1-24; 33 copies of pages 29-32 regarding Frederick Soane, and 23 title pages (Mandelbrote packet 11.2); and 2 copies of pages 17-24 (Mandelbrote packet 11.3).

Binding Copy 1: Stitched in plain paper wrappers.
Copy 2: C20th half red calf, marbled-paper boards, the spine gilt-ruled and gilt-lettered 'Sir John Soane Memoirs &c.'
All other copies: Loose unbound sheets.
