The Morning Chronicle was first published in 1789 in continuation of The Morning Chronicle and London advertiser, and was previously edited by Soane's friend James Perry. This issue includes reports on the introduction of censorship in France.
Copy Notes Attached to the front page with a pin is a duplicate cutting of the article headed 'New Church, Eastern Division of the Parish of St. Mary-La-Bonne - Builders and others ... and are informed; that the plans & specifications of the several works may be seen on application at Mr. Soane's office, in Lincoln's Inn-fields, ...'; inscribed in ink on the verso Cut out from the Morning / Chronicle of the 23rd August / at the Chronicle Office this / day / George Bailey.
