Copy Notes Accompanied by a printed notice notifying members currently in default of payment of the relevant regulation (Art. VIII) concerning non-payment inscribed in ink Sir, dated 7 March 1825 and signed Edwd Magrath, Secretary (Archives 7/6/7/1), used as wrapper. Magrath was the long-serving secretary of the Athenaeum, ca.1825--55. Soane ran into default over his payments a second time in 1827 at which point he instructed his bankers Messr s Praed & Co. to pay his subscription, dated London 7 Febry 1827. (Archives 7/6/8).
