Drop-head title, final verso blank. Includes the text of a letter inviting artists to submit entries for an exhibition [the fifth] to be held in February 1826, dated 'Edinburgh, 14th October 1825' and signed in ink by Fras Cameron, the Assistant Secretary. 'The Report of the Committee' is signed by 'Alexr Maconochie'. The Institution, afterwards the Royal Institution for the Encouragement of the Fine Arts in Scotland (q.v.), held its first exhibition in 1819.

Copy Notes Folded paper as and addressed in ink as a letter on final verso John Soane Esq. R.A. / &c. &c. &c. / Lincoln's Inn Fields and red postal frank '3 No 1825'. Final verso also inscribed in ink in an unidentified contemporary hand Nov 1825 / Society for the Encouragt / of the Arts in / Scotland. / Mr Camer[on?]. Bound (1) in an archival bundle with correspondence dated January to September 1829 concerning the loan of drawings by Soane to the exhibition of the Scottish Academy in that year.

Binding Bifolium, pinned together with MSS. letters, repaired with C20th tape.
