Soane was among the 280 original proprietors of the Royal Institution, established in Albemarle Street in 1799 as a public institution for the diffusion of knowledge through philosophical lectures and experiments.

Binding C20th green book-cloth, spine gilt-lettered 'Royal Institution'. Bound (2) with The charter, Act of Parliament and bye laws of the Royal Institution, 1810 (q.v.) and the prospectus of the Royal Irish Institution, for Promoting the Fine Arts, 1814 (q.v.).
