Awarded a gold medal by the Edinburgh Society in 1756 and first published in 1759. The 'Three Dissertations On Taste' have a divisional title-page with continous pagination and register. D'Alembert's 'Reflexions On The Use and Abuse Of Philosophy' and Montesquieu's 'Essay On Taste' have divisional title-pages with continuous register but not counted in the page numbering. Page iv misnumbered iii. ESTC t60731.
