Originally published in 144 numbered parts as deduced from the direction line at the foot of the pages, but no separate set of parts has been recorded. Herman Moll's work entitled The compleat geographer was first published in London, 1722--23. Title-pages in red and black. Pages 281--8 in vol. I are misnumbered 381--8. The list of additional articles at the end of vol. II is signed 'S.B.' Index and errata at end of vol. II. The dedication is usually signed 'Stephen Whatley', and the present copy represents a variant with the dedication signed 'The Authors'. ESTC t140529.
Copy Notes Volume I has pencilled doodles at the head of p. 52 and a marginal annotation to the text in ink in an unidentified eighteenth-century hand on p. 738.
