Copy Notes Bought from Thomas Boone for 12s. on 8 July 1807. (Spiers Box). First front free-endpaper inscribed in pencil 2 toms :12s: with bookseller's codes. Inscribed in ink on title-page of vol. I Rob. Kock. The frontispiece portrait of Boileau is pasted onto the second front free-endpaper, through which can be read a further ownership inscription in ink Jno. Beverley. 1774/ 2 Toms/ -6-.
Binding C18th Cambridge-style panelled sprinkled calf, gilt roll-tooled borders, later gilt-tooled spines with red & olive leather spine-labels.
