Forms no. XVI of Murray's (later Tegg's) 'Family Library'. Colophon: Edinburgh: printed by Ballantyne and Company. The frontispiece of 'The Bow, Edinburgh, House of Major Weir' is engraved by W.H. Lizars after J. Skene. Issue without the set of 12 plates by George Cruikshank (found in three states, plain, coloured, and on India paper) that also appeared in 1830. See R. Copy Notes With a copy of Murray's Family Library Advertiser, September 1830 (q.v.), bound in at the front as issued. A bill from T. & W. Boone records Soane's purchase of volumes 15 to 18 and 20 to 22 of the 'Family Library' for £1 11s. 6d. on 17 June 1831. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.7.15).
