Anonymous. A translation of the Jesuit historian Gabriel Daniel's anti-Cartesian fantasy Voiage du monde de Descartes (1690), sometimes attributed to Daniel Defoe. The present edition is a reissue of the sheets of the first edition of the translation which was published in 1692. Leaf A8 has errata on the recto and publisher's list on the verso. Includes index. ESTC r29697.

Copy Notes Bound as part of a 48-volume set of uniformly bound works by or attributed to Defoe which on the evidence of endleaves variously watermarked '1814', '1808', etc. was presumably assembled around 1810--15.

Binding C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt-tooled spine direct-lettered in gilt 'Defoe's Works' and 'Voyage To The World Of Cartesius'.
