The title-pages of volumes II--V have 'Volumen Secundum (--Quintum)' in place of 'Studiis Societatis Bipontinae'; that of vol. VI reads as above until 'Accurate Expressi Volumen Sextum Annotationes In Scholia Graeca Et Indices'. The title-pages of the first five volumes have engraved vignettes depicting a bust of Thucydides in vol. I and numismatic subjects within ornamented cartouches in vols II--VI. Volume I includes 'Marcellini De Thucydidis Vita Et Genere Dicendi excerpta ex integra ipsius Historia Dissertatio' (pp. III--XXXI), and 'Notitia Literaria De Thucydide Ex Io. Alb. Fabricii Bibliotheca Graeca Lib. II, Cap. XXV' (pp. LVI--LXXXIII).
Copy Notes Bought from T. & W. Boone for £4, 1 July 1828. (Spiers Box). Ink and pencil annotations, mostly in a small, neat English hand, especially in vol. I where the opening leaves of the 'Variae Lectiones ...' have been folded before binding to preserve an extended MS. note.
Binding C19th polished calf, blind-tooled palmette and anthemion borders within gilt fillets with small floral corner ornaments, gilt-tooled spine compartments with blind-tooled false bands, marbled edges.
