Anonymous. Title and imprint from general title-page, in volume I only; each volume additionally has a part title-page naming the editor as Antonio Francesco Gori, with notes in vol. I (i.e. 'Pars Prima') by Anton Maria Salvini. 'Pars Secunda' has imprint dated 1734; 'Pars Tertia' has the imprint 'Florentiae.... Typis Petri Caietani Vivianii' dated 1743, with a colophon dated '1744'. Text in Latin with quotations and examples in inscriptions in Greek. The plates are chiefly engraved by Vincenzo Franceschini; with engraved head-pieces and initials, and woodcut illustrations throughout. Part I contains the inscriptions in Florence; part II the inscriptions in Pisa, Siena, Fiesole, Pistoia, Prato, Volterra, Arezzo, Cortona, Chiusi and Montepulciano; part III includes inscriptions and antiquities 'Qvae In Florentinis Mvseis Ceterisqve Per Etrvriam Spectantvr'. The antiquarian Antonio Francesco Gori is now chiefly remembered for commencing the twelve-volume Museum Florentinum, 1731-1766 (q.v.), describing the Medici and other collections of antiquities in Florence.

Binding C18th sprinkled calf, gilt-ruled spine, red and green morocco spine-labels. Volume I with additional paper spine-label lettered in ink 'Gorii'.
