Purpose

Design for a ceiling for an unknown room in an unknown house, 1774, as executed at 7 or 9 John Street (1)

Notes

This ceiling was executed in accordance with Adam’s design, and survived to be photographed by the LCC in 1906, but it is not clear whether the ceiling was executed at number 7 or number 9, or indeed in which room within either of these houses. Both houses were located on the south side of John Street, opposite the RSA building, and were demolished in 1936.
