Notes
Number 20 (later number 4) John Street
The home of Alexander Eddie is thought to have been number 20 (later number 4) John Street on the north side of the street, as he is described as being adjacent to the RSA secretary’s house. Eddie was a seed merchant, whose firm Eddie and Dupont was located at number 71 and then number 68 The Strand. He also leased warehouses in the Adelphi arches. This house was incorporated into the RSA in the twentieth century. See Royal Society of Arts subscheme notes.
