Purpose
Preliminary design and finished drawing for the ceiling for an unknown room in an unknown house, 1770; it is not known if this design was executed (2)
Notes
Adam volume 5/85 is inscribed as being for number 13 Adam Street, but that was one of the small shops on Adam Street, and neither the ground or first floor room ceilings in these buildings would have been large enough to take this ceiling. Therefore, the intended location for the design is unknown.
It is not known if this design was executed as there is no known photographic record of the ceiling anywhere at the Adelphi.
