Purpose

Finished drawing for the ceiling for the drawing room, 1769, executed with alterations in a second-floor room (1)

Notes

The drawing room would have been located at the front, on the first storey of the house.

A variant of this design without the peltoid shields, was executed in a second-floor room of number 9 Adam Street, and survived to be photographed by the LCC in 1937.
