[105] Finished drawing for the ceiling for the drawing room, 1769, executed, possibly with alterations
Aspect
Plan of a rectangular ceiling, with a central octagonal medallion, enclosed within a fluted frame, encircled by four portions of rinceaux, and set within a lozenge-shaped frame, encircled by ribbons and festoons, and within a frame composed of square and segmental compartments, with the square compartments in each corner, with a frame of cable moulding and containing an enclosed rosette, and the segmental compartments on each side, with a border of anthemia and acanthus leaves, and a central compartment containing an urn flanked by lions, and the whole is set within a frame of Vitruvian scroll, and is flanked by bordering rectangular compartments of enclosed anthemia alternating with lozenges
