[95] Finished drawing for the ceiling for the drawing room, 1769, unexecuted
Aspect
Plan of a rectangular ceiling, with a central oval medallion, enclosed within frames of cable moulding, rosettes enclosed within Vitruvian scroll composed of acanthus leaves, and Vitruvian scroll, encircled by rinceaux, and drops of calyx which enclose vesica-shaped medallions, and alternating with segmental compartments containing urns flanked by winged sphinxes, and the whole is set within an octagonal frame of Vitruvian scroll, and with an enclosed rosette in each corner, and with a rough pencil annotation of a ceiling to the right-hand side, inscribed with colours in Italian
