Purpose

Design for the ceiling for the front drawing room, 1770, executed at number 8 Royal Terrace (1)

Notes

The front drawing room was at the front, overlooking the river, on the first storey of the house.

This design was not executed at number 10 Royal Terrace, and instead was installed in the front drawing room of number 8 Royal Terrace, and survived to be photographed by the LCC in 1936, albeit with the room partitioned along the middle of the ceiling. In this room a ceiling was executed which had been designed for the front drawing room at number 8 Royal Terrace (Adam volume 13/36) which survived to be photographed by the LCC in 1936.
