Notes

It is not known if this design was executed as there is no known photographic record of the chimneypiece prior to demolition. However, prior to demolition the chimneypiece from this room was included in an auction of 1936, and is described in the auction catalogue as being to a different design: ‘A white marble chimneypiece with grey inner jambs, the fluted frieze with 3 paterae.’
