Design for the chimneypiece for the front drawing room, c1770-71; it is not known if this design was executed (1)

Notes

It is not known if this design was executed as there is no known photographic record of the chimneypiece prior to demolition.

This design is a variant of that designed by Adam in 1769 for the front drawing room at 15 Berkeley Square (Adam volume 22/212). The Berkeley Square design is inscribed in pencil with the words, D:Y. / Body of Building / Front Drawing R[cropped], corresponding with the intended location of this design.
