[31] Preliminary design for the stables, 1785, unexecuted
Aspect
Rough elevation of a three-storey circular building, with an eleven-bay curtain wall around the ground storey, with a central carriage arch, flanked by tapering, circular towers containing slit windows, and beyond are link walls each containing three arched windows, and further tapering towers. The first storey is narrower, being seven bays wide, with three windows within relieving arches, alternating with projecting bays surmounted by small pepper-pot turrets. The second storey is narrower still, being octagonal, with three bays visible, each containing a cross-shaped slit window, and surmounted by a flag
